Our client is an airline organisation operating and maintaining a commercial aircraft fleet. They are seeking a Manager, Service Engineering to lead service engineering activities and ensure continuing airworthiness, reliability, and compliance with applicable airworthiness requirements.

Position

The Manager, Service Engineering is responsible for the management, control, and supervision of service engineering activities covering aircraft structures, interiors, avionics, power plant, and aircraft systems. The role ensures engineering decisions and actions are taken in line with approved manuals and regulatory requirements, and reports directly to the Head of Engineering.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead and control Service Engineering activities, including developing processes and procedures to enhance performance and ensure compliance with CARC requirements.
  • Ensure new ADs, ASBs, and optional SBs are obtained, assessed, and that all applicable SBs, modifications, and ADs are completed within required time limits.
  • Monitor the issuance of Engineering Orders and Engineering Advisories, ensuring these are produced correctly and in line with human factors principles.
  • Oversee manufacturer advisories and modifications to confirm suitability for the fleet, and supervise implementation of upgrades/modifications to required standards.
  • In coordination with Technical Publications, distribute new ADs and SBs to relevant sub-sections.
  • Maintain up-to-date lists (per aircraft/engine/APU) of SBs, ADs, modifications, and upgrades accomplished across the fleet.
  • Coordinate with internal engineering stakeholders, aircraft manufacturers, OEMs, and contracted agencies on airworthiness matters (repairs, maintenance, overhaul, etc.).
  • Participate in the review and approval of technical records for aircraft newly introduced into the fleet.
  • Monitor power plant performance and support scheduling of engine removals in accordance with a staggering plan.
  • Monitor the regular issuance of trend monitoring reports.
  • Ensure Service Engineering contributes to evaluation of the effectiveness of the CMP and overall aircraft reliability.
  • Coordinate with Technical Planning regarding maintenance work to be performed.
  • Ensure completed work is reported to the Service Engineering department and reviewed as required, including providing feedback on proper accomplishment of maintenance activities.
  • Participate in the generation of work packages from a Service Engineering perspective.
  • Administer, direct, and coordinate personnel within the Service Engineering section, managing day-to-day activities.
  • Coordinate with Engineering Department colleagues to produce, correct, or improve departmental/sectional SOPs.
  • Maintain liaison with aircraft manufacturers/OEMs regarding technical matters.
  • Carry out other tasks as assigned by the Head of Engineering.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering (or relevant discipline) or an appropriate Part 66 licence.
  • Formal aeronautical training on at least one aircraft type operated by the client.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in continuing airworthiness with sound knowledge of airworthiness regulations.
  • Knowledge of applicable regulations, including legislation training on Part-M, Part 145, Part 21
  • Knowledge of maintenance methods.
  • Practical experience applying aviation safety standards and best practices.
  • Completion of required Basic/Recurrent Training as per CAME 0.3.25.

Monthly Remuneration: up to USD 5,000
