Our client is a well-established aviation operator in the Middle East, providing commercial aviation services and supporting functions that ensure safe, reliable operations across their fleet. We are seeking an experienced Head of CAMO (CAMO Manager / Head of Engineering) to act as the Continuing Airworthiness Post Holder in line with Part-M Subpart G requirements, nominated by the Accountable Manager and reporting directly to them.

The role is accountable for the end-to-end continuing airworthiness and maintenance oversight framework, including maintenance programmes, contracted maintenance oversight, regulatory coordination, and engineering governance. The post holder will also participate in key governance forums (e.g., reliability, quality management review, and continuing airworthiness committees) and provide leadership across service engineering, technical planning, technical publications, airworthiness, and MCC functions.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary focal point with the Regulatory Authorities on airworthiness matters.
• Ensure all aircraft maintenance is planned and completed on time, using approved maintenance data, via approved contracted maintenance organisations, and in compliance with AOC conditions and applicable regulations/standards.
• Maintain and manage maintenance agreements with Part-145 contractors, including defining maintenance requirements, ensuring compliance with internal procedures and Part-M, and coordinating contract reviews and negotiations.
• Lead contractor sourcing and evaluation activities (bids, proposal review, consultation) for aircraft, engines, and major components maintenance/repair/overhaul.
• Oversee maintenance risk management and ensure appropriate safety risk mitigations are implemented.
• Develop and manage the annual engineering/maintenance budget, including corrective actions on deviations and cost-saving initiatives.
• Coordinate cross-functionally (legal/insurance/service engineering) to ensure contractual obligations, warranties, and claims are managed appropriately.
• Support fleet and asset decisions (purchase, exchange, sale, lease), including end-of-lease conditions and true-ups.
• Work closely with Quality and Operations leadership to maintain compliant maintenance procedures, maintenance programme approvals, MEL validity, and organisational crisis/accident readiness from a maintenance perspective.
• Ensure occurrence reporting of maintenance-related events to authorities and aircraft manufacturers (mandatory and non-mandatory schemes as applicable).
• Lead the engineering team to ensure continuing airworthiness compliance, including AD/OD evaluation and embodiment, repair/modification standards, defect follow-up, technical records control, and maintenance programme effectiveness monitoring.
• Ensure appropriate controls over the Technical Log format and procedures, including regulatory approval requirements.

Requirements 

• Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering (or a relevant discipline) or an appropriate Part-66 licence.
• Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience, including at least 2 years within the aeronautical industry in an appropriate position.
• Strong practical experience applying aviation safety standards and safe operating practices.
• Comprehensive understanding of operational requirements/procedures and AOC operations specifications.
• Working knowledge of quality systems.
• Thorough familiarity with a Continuing Airworthiness Management Exposition (CAME) and continuing airworthiness management requirements.
• Aircraft type knowledge gained through formal training (A310 / A320 / A330 / B737 family / B767).
• Strong knowledge of maintenance methods and relevant regulations.
• Completion of required basic/recurrent training as applicable to the organisation’s requirements.

Remuneration: Up to USD 6,000 p.m.

Contract length: 12-month renewable.
