On behalf of our client, PNG Air, a leading airline operating nearly 30 domestic routes in Papua New Guinea, we are seeking an experienced General Manager – Continuing Airworthiness Management Group (CAMG) to lead the CAMG Division in Port Moresby.

The General CAMG is responsible for ensuring the safety, continuing airworthiness, maintenance planning and regulatory compliance of the PNG Air fleet.

• Minimum 5 years of technical aviation experience.
• Minimum 3 years of supervisory or management experience.
• Hold or have previously held a LAME (Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer) licence.
• Strong knowledge of aircraft maintenance requirements and applicable CA Rule Part 121 provisions.
• Clear understanding of the maintenance sections of the company Exposition and Continuing Airworthiness procedures.
• Broad airline experience with strong knowledge of commercial and/or private aviation operations.
• Demonstrated strong leadership and decision-making skills.
• Good knowledge of maintenance planning and cost control.
• Strong understanding of continuing airworthiness, maintenance control and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance Control

• Ensure aircraft maintenance complies with PNG CASA-approved programmes and CAM procedures.
• Ensure aircraft availability and effective maintenance coordination.
• Manage MELs, defects, deferred items, repairs and modifications.
• Ensure compliance with Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins and approved maintenance standards.
• Maintain accurate technical records and ensure maintenance providers have required documentation.
• Review maintenance programmes and agreements and advise the CEO on airworthiness matters.

Forecasting & Planning

• Plan and monitor scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
• Coordinate Work Packs, maintenance forecasts and Part 145 planning.
• Consider operational requirements in long-term maintenance planning.
• Report projected maintenance requirements to management.

Regulatory Compliance & Approvals

• Ensure compliance with CASA regulations and continuing airworthiness requirements.
• Issue Special Flight Permits in accordance with approved procedures.
• Liaise with CASA on fleet airworthiness matters.
• Maintain the Continuing Airworthiness Management Manual and MELs.
• Implement corrective and preventive actions from audits.
• Maintain secure records of airworthiness certificates and approvals.

Aircraft Records & Systems

• Manage maintenance tracking systems for aircraft, engines, components and inspections.
• Ensure aircraft logbooks and continuing airworthiness records are accurate and up to date.
