Our client is a prominent airline, and we are currently looking for a Technical Services Engineer for Airframe Structures to join their Continuing Airworthiness Management Group (CAMG).
Position
This position is responsible for the mechanical and structural engineering of the airframe, as well as managing how these specifications interface with other areas regarding the aircraft and equipment.
Key responsibilities:
- Ensure the company remains compliant with CASA PNG, Transport Canada, FAA, EASA, and CASA Australia regulations.
- Review state-of-design Airworthiness Directives during weekly reviews and conduct necessary maintenance data assessments.
- Evaluate service literature from aircraft and equipment manufacturers.
- Provide technical troubleshooting and expertise by researching and investigating maintenance defects to support the Continued Airworthiness Management Group.
- Advise Flight Operations on any operational changes required after modifications have been implemented.
- Carry out technical and economic evaluations of proposed modifications and prepare submissions for their embodiment.
- Evaluate technical specifications for new equipment, processes, or newly introduced aircraft to recommend their suitability.
- Identify, monitor, and analyse maintenance defects and adverse trends to develop appropriate rectification actions.
- Liaise with approved external engineering and maintenance support organisations, vendors, and manufacturers regarding airframe structural matters.
- Foster harmonious relationships and effective communication with production, quality assurance, technical materials, and planning teams.
- Assist other departments in resolving technical problems in an advisory or research capacity when requested.
- Ensure that any company-initiated changes to basic aircraft specifications are technically sound and properly considered.
- Provide Aircraft on Ground (AOG) assistance and technical advice to the Maintenance Watch Department.
- Support the setup and maintenance of Information Systems used within the department.
Requirements
- Only candidates with experience with ATR aircraft are qualified for this position.
- Substantial experience in a senior aircraft engineering role within aviation, preferably with aircraft acquisition experience and formal qualifications.
- Thorough knowledge of general airline commercial and private operations.
- Strong leadership, team-building, and management skills to promote a proactive and harmonious work culture.
- A solid understanding of corporate business objectives, operational policies, maintenance systems, and budget development.
- Proven ability to proactively develop procedures and operate effectively within a multicultural environment.
- Capable of advising senior management on engineering issues and driving necessary changes.
- Results-focused with a commitment to maintaining high customer service and industry best practices.
- Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline are desirable, though not essential.
Terms
Remuneration: up to 65,000 AUD per annum
