We are looking for a Manager Technical Records and Planning to manage maintenance planning responsibilities within the Airline Technical department and CAMG section, supporting the continuing airworthiness requirements of the airline’s fleet. The position is based in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea and reports functionally and operationally to the General Manager.

The Manager Maintenance Planning will be accountable for all maintenance planning responsibilities within the department. The role is responsible to the Manager Continuing Airworthiness Group for ensuring that maintenance programmes, work packs, forecasts, planning records, and related documentation are accurate, current, and compliant with applicable regulatory and quality system requirements.

Key responsibilities:

• Oversee and review compiled work packs as required, in line with CAMG requirements and maintenance programmes for all scheduled maintenance.
• Prepare reports on the maintenance status of aircraft within the fleet.
• Update and maintain the approved maintenance programmes for the fleet.
• Ensure approved maintenance programmes are correctly uploaded and kept current in the maintenance tracking software.
• Ensure all maintenance planning tasks and components are tracked correctly to support the operational requirements of the airline, and that planning is carried out within the constraints of the rules set out by the regulator.
• Ensure compliance with the quality system in relation to maintenance programme documentation.
• Prepare and maintain a long-term maintenance forecast plan.
• Liaise daily with Airline Operations and Maintenance Watch regarding aircraft maintenance planning.
• Oversee the day-to-day functions of the planning department.
• Monitor and liaise with MROs, subcontractors, and Maintenance Watch regarding open defects, deferrals, and MEL lists.
• Liaise with MRO production planning teams regarding scheduled maintenance.
• Liaise with the Manager Continuing Airworthiness and Technical Services Engineers on maintenance data assessments requiring airworthiness amendments and updates.
• Check and review returned work packs with the Compliance Officer and Technical Records department for deferred maintenance, and liaise with the Manager Continuing Airworthiness on the forward planning of such deferred maintenance.
• Liaise with the Manager Continuing Airworthiness on maintenance programme extension requests and allowances.
• Liaise with the Senior Planner, Manager Continuing Airworthiness, and Compliance Officer regarding discrepancies in the maintenance programme.
• Prepare the 48-hour maintenance forward plan and participate in the daily operational 48-hour meeting as the CAMG representative.
• Carry out other tasks delegated by the Manager Continuing Airworthiness Group.

The role is accountable for:

• Achieving 95% planned maintenance issuance to MRO as per CAMM reference.
• Achieving 100% maintenance forecast reporting and updating as per MRO requirements, with Maintenance Watch input.
• Carrying out timely monthly planning department meetings in collaboration with Technical Services and rotable planners for efficient downtime utilisation.
• Carrying out weekly MRO–CAMG planning meetings and organising tasks in line with scheduled downtime to minimise disruption costs.
• Providing supporting documents with job cards so MROs can carry out their work with minimum disruption to maintenance.

• 3 years of senior planning experience.
• 2 years of ATR planning experience.
• High level of Excel spreadsheet management of LDND tasks.
• Experience in aircraft maintenance planning within an airline technical or continuing airworthiness environment.
• Experience preparing and reviewing aircraft maintenance work packs.
• Experience maintaining approved maintenance programmes and maintenance tracking systems.
• Experience tracking maintenance tasks, components, open defects, deferrals, and MEL items.
• Experience preparing maintenance status reports and long-term maintenance forecast plans.
• Experience liaising with airline operations, maintenance watch, MROs, subcontractors, technical services, compliance, and technical records teams.
• Experience supporting scheduled maintenance planning and 48-hour operational maintenance planning.

Remuneration: up to 80,000 AUD per annum
