On behalf of our client, we are seeking an experienced aviation finance professional to join its Finance team as Manager – Engineering Finance, based in Papua New Guinea.

Position

Reporting to the Senior Manager – Financial Reporting, the Manager – Engineering Finance will serve as the dedicated Finance Business Partner to the Engineering Division. The role is responsible for ensuring the accurate accounting, valuation, reporting, and financial control of engineering-related activities, while supporting operational and strategic decision-making.


Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline.
  • Professional accounting qualification (CPA, CA, or ACCA) preferred.
  • Minimum 8–10 years of Engineering Finance experience within the airline industry.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, aircraft component accounting, asset valuation, and maintenance reserve accounting.
  • Experience with Oracle Fusion ERP and Engineering/MRO systems is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience in inventory accounting, financial reporting, and financial controls.
  • Strong analytical, stakeholder management, and business partnering skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both Finance and Engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary Finance Business Partner to the Engineering Division.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and cost optimisation initiatives.
  • Ensure accurate accounting and reporting of maintenance costs, inventory, aircraft assets, engines, components, rotables, and maintenance reserves.
  • Provide technical accounting guidance in accordance with IFRS standards.
  • Review and monitor engineering expenditure, capital projects, maintenance events, and inventory transactions.
  • Lead Finance participation in Engineering and MRO system evaluations, implementations, and Oracle Fusion ERP integrations.
  • Oversee inventory accounting, valuation, stock obsolescence provisions, and inventory reconciliations.
  • Manage aircraft component accounting, depreciation, maintenance reserve accounting, and asset valuation activities.
  • Strengthen financial controls and ensure compliance with accounting policies, audit requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Support internal and external audits related to engineering finance and accounting.

Terms
  • Remuneration: USD 75,000 – USD 80,000 per annum (negotiable, depending on qualifications and experience).
  • Permanent, full-time position based in Papua New Guinea.
