Airport Operations Manager - Port Moresby Airport Papua New Guinea Negotiable Apply

Our client, the leading domestic airline of Papua New Guinea, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Airport Manager to lead ground operations and deliver outstanding safety, efficiency, and customer service at Port Moresby airport. Position The Airport Manager is responsible to the General Manager Operations for the following: Providing overall leadership, management and support to all ground operations staff and activities at the allocated airport Ensuring the airport functions effectively and efficiently to achieve on-time performance while maintaining the highest level of safety Providing solutions and advice on roster and manpower issues Overall management of appointments and trainings for staff Ensuring all reports are maintained and completed in a timely manner Overseeing all personnel and operational activities, including GSE management, budget control, and compliance Ensuring equipment is well maintained, records are kept up to date, and inventory checks are carried out as required Implementing and monitoring the effectiveness of policies, procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures per the Ground Operations Manual Developing and implementing cost-efficient methods to assist with airport policies and procedures Ensuring all staff maintain a clean and professional working environment Monitoring compliance with time and attendance requirements Recruiting, mentoring and developing staff; managing performance and delivering feedback when necessary Providing general support to NAC and other stakeholders Maintaining close relationships with external bodies, including airport owners and government bodies Acting as the primary point of contact for internal and external clients at the allocated airport Liaising with the Administration, Training and Controls Manager to handle requests and queries from operational areas Liaising with the Northern/Southern Airports Manager to handle requests and queries from other ops-critical areas Ensuring delays are handled per SOPs and providing corrective action on RPT scheduling issues Encouraging and facilitating open communication across all aspects of the business Participating in inspections, audits, emergency exercises, and interactions with regulators Ensuring safe working practices are implemented and adhered to per company policies Maintaining accurate records of all incidents and accidents; following up findings to closure in a timely manner Reporting all incidents and investigating solutions to local port issues Requirements Previous management experience in the airline or airport industry, or equivalent Thorough understanding of airport operations, ramp, and load control Strong leadership, team building, interpersonal, planning, and analytical abilities Advanced knowledge of airport systems, weight and balance principles, and computerised systems used in the aviation industry Ability to think strategically, troubleshoot, and manage multiple priorities under pressure Excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively at all levels Advanced computer skills, preferably Microsoft suite Minimum Grade 12 education with relevant work experience Physically fit with current police clearance Terms Salary Band would be on local Market Value (this will be discussed after a successful candidate has been identified) Full-time position will get the following benefits: Accommodation and transportation: provided Annual Leave: 30 days Sick Leave: 9 days Annual Leave Tickets: 4 return tickets per annum General This is an on-site position based in Port Moresby, NCD, Papua New Guinea.
