Position

Responsible for shaping and implementing the airline’s distribution strategy to enhance channel effectiveness, expand market presence, and increase revenue across both direct and indirect channels. The role includes managing partnerships, overseeing channel performance, leveraging data insights, and optimising cost of sales within the broader distribution function.

Job description:

  • Lead the development and execution of the airline’s distribution strategy across all channels (direct, indirect, GDS, NDC, OTAs, corporate travel) to grow revenue while lowering distribution costs.

  • Oversee and optimise the channel portfolio by tracking performance, cost of sale, conversion metrics, and booking flows, identifying opportunities to shift demand toward more cost-efficient channels.

  • Negotiate, manage, and expand key distribution partnerships—including interline and codeshare agreements relevant to distribution, GDS/OTA connections, and agency networks.

  • Manage fare and inventory distribution across all platforms (direct connect, NDC, GDS) to ensure accurate product display, availability, and pricing logic tailored to each channel.

  • Evaluate booking behaviour, channel contributions, market trends, competitive dynamics, and conversion data to generate insights that drive distribution improvements.

  • Establish, track, and report on KPIs such as channel cost ratios, channel-level conversion rates, revenue contribution by partner/channel, booking share, and incremental channel growth.

  • Work closely with Commercial, Marketing, Revenue Management, and IT teams to align distribution initiatives with overall commercial objectives, ensuring fare structures and inventory support the channel strategy.

  • Continuously update and refine the distribution strategy in response to analytics, market developments, emerging technologies (e.g., NDC, API-based distribution), and industry best practices.

Requirements
  • Master’s in Business Management / Aviation Management or related field with minimum 06 years of relevant work experience in a managerial role within an international airline.

OR

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management / Aviation Management or related field with minimum 08 years of relevant work experience in managerial role within an international airline.

AND

  • Proven background in airline distribution management, including channel strategy, GDS/OTA oversight, partner networks, direct distribution, and NDC/API-driven models.
  • Established success in managing indirect channels (GDS/OTA/corporate) and steering channel mix improvements to optimise both revenue and distribution cost.

  • Strong analytical capability, with the ability to interpret booking trends, channel performance indicators, and market dynamics to generate insights and actionable recommendations.

  • Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills with distribution partners, GSAs, OTAs, travel agencies, and corporate travel buyers.

  • In-depth knowledge of fare and inventory structures, distribution cost models, channel economics, and modern airline distribution technologies (e.g., NDC/API).

  • Highly organised, self-motivated, and effective at navigating multi-stakeholder, cross-functional environments; strong project management and cross-cultural communication skills.
