Position

The MRO Department is seeking to appoint a Stores Manager, based in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. Reporting directly to the General Manager – MRO, this role is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Supplies section, ensuring the timely delivery of aircraft spares to support maintenance operations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Train and develop Supply staff in purchasing procedures using IAS and CAMP systems
  • Review and update supply chain practices in line with environmental policies and regulations
  • Manage requisitions from acceptance to completion, ensuring compliance with company procedures
  • Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers, vendors, and freight forwarders
  • Monitor supplier performance to ensure quality and timely delivery
  • Track forecasts and quotas to assess supply chain impact
  • Provide management updates on critical items with proposed solutions
  • Analyse reports and offer strategic insights
  • Support data cleansing activities in IAS and CAMP
  • Provide coverage for AOG (Aircraft on Ground) items
  • Collaborate with Rotable Planning, Senior Planners, and PPC to align procurement with maintenance forecasts
  • Minimise repayment terms for rotable components
  • Build and maintain vendor relationships to expand approved credit accounts
  • Oversee all aspects of inventory management, including supply chain, receipt issuance, and quarantine
  • Ensure traceability and proper handling of core returns and receipts
  • Maintain inventory value through best practices in component and consumable management
  • Reduce inventory shrinkage through effective controls

Requirements

  • Prior experience in the aviation industry is highly desirable
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English
  • Strong working knowledge of inventory management systems, particularly IAS and CAMP
  • Valid driver’s licence
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outloo
