Our client is a dynamic and fast-growing airline based in Malta, renowned for its commitment to exceptional service and regional connectivity. As part of its continued expansion, the airline is seeking a seasoned and strategic Head of Marketing and Public Relations to lead its brand development, media engagement, and promotional initiatives.

Position

To cultivate a robust industry network, enhance brand visibility, and establish a distinguished corporate image through the development and execution of strategic communication and media relations programmes.

Key responsibilities:

  • Plan, develop, and execute regular direct marketing campaigns to promote the airline’s business and achieve agreed targets
  • Design and implement impactful public relations initiatives to enhance the airline’s brand, image, and social responsibility across the industry and wider public
  • Lead brand management and development by ensuring consistent internal and external messaging for the airline
  • Champion sustainability awareness by developing and implementing environmental and community programmes that position the airline as a socially responsible organisation
  • Oversee advertising programmes, including the planning and launch of campaigns to build brand awareness and foster a positive corporate image
  • Organise customer relationship management events to create networking opportunities and strengthen client engagement
  • Develop, implement, and monitor branding and advertising guidelines to ensure consistency and quality
  • Source and manage corporate gifts for events, festivities, and special occasions
  • Create compelling content for press releases, byline articles, and keynote presentations
  • Review and approve press releases prior to final management sign-off
  • Handle media enquiries and coordinate interview requests
  • Monitor, analyse, and report on PR performance on a quarterly basis
  • Continuously evaluate opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships, and advertising to maximise brand exposure
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and provide strategic recommendations to enhance communication efforts

Requirements
  • A degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field is considered an asset
  • Minimum of 6 years’ professional experience in marketing, communications, and sales
  • Proven ability to build, execute, and scale cross-functional marketing programmes
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using data and metrics to measure impact and drive improvements
  • Confident in presenting performance metrics and progress against targets to senior leadership
  • Sound understanding of key challenges within the aviation industry, including competitive dynamics and safety concerns
  • Demonstrated experience in leading cross-functional teams and ensuring clarity of roles and responsibilities
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to take initiative and drive results

Terms
  • This role reports to the VP Commercial based in Malta.

  • Person needs to relocate to Malta and they need aviation experience for this one.
