Our client is seeking a qualified and experienced Charter Manager to join our Commercial Department in Oceania.
Position
The Charter Manager is tasked with expanding the charter market and overseeing the provision of products and services as needed. This role also involves securing new charter agreements, particularly within corporate sectors such as the resource industry.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES
Responsible for managing and overseeing charter aviation contracts to ensure full compliance with contractual obligations, aviation regulations, safety standards, and SLAs.
Conducts contract reviews, risk assessments, and contractor audits.
Provides performance and profitability reports to senior leadership, recommending improvements for operational efficiency.
Leads market research on PNG’s charter aviation sector, identifying new business opportunities and developing strategies for growth.
Pursues new contracts and partnerships while negotiating tailored charter solutions for corporate and government clients.
Oversees service delivery, flight scheduling, and logistics to ensure customer satisfaction and contract compliance.
Collaborates with operations, ground, and maintenance teams to ensure service reliability and optimize performance.
Monitors KPIs and implements continuous improvement measures to enhance charter service efficiency and profitability
Requirements
TECHNICAL ATTRIBUTES
Experienced in building strong relationships across all airline levels and stakeholders. Skilled in contract management, market strategy, and policy development. Strong negotiator with a focus on cost control, profitability, and company representation. Proven ability to solve problems, build partnerships, and uphold health, safety, and environmental standards.
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
Exceptional leader with strong communication skills and a commitment to delivering high customer service and industry best practices. Able to meet deadlines under pressure while upholding company values and standards.
QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCE
Tertiary qualifications, preferably in a Business-related discipline
5–10 years of industry experience, with a strong background in contract management
Experience in the aviation industry highly regarded
Familiarity with PNG and emerging market economies is an advantage
Terms
Salary: From AUD 70K to AUD 120K p.a
Annual Leaves: 30 days (full-time contract)
Sick leaves: 9 days (full-time contract for tours 6 days)
Annual Leave Tickets: 4 return tickets per annum (full-time contract)
