Our client is a prominent international group operating across the logistics and aviation sectors, with a particular focus on air cargo, ground handling, and maintenance services. Known for its dynamic growth and cross-border operations, the organisation is seeking a group legal counsel  to support its strategic and regulatory needs across multiple jurisdictions.

Position

As Group Legal Counsel, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding and advancing the commercial interests of our group of companies. You will provide clear, strategic legal guidance and support across the organisation, helping to mitigate risk and ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and the Group’s Legal Framework. This position requires a proactive, solutions-focused legal professional with the expertise and confidence to navigate complex, cross-border business environments.

Key responsibilities :

  • Lead and oversee the legal function, providing direction, mentorship, and professional development to the team.
  • Design and implement legal strategies that align with the Group’s overarching business objectives.
  • Advise senior leadership and executives on legal, regulatory, and risk-related matters to support key business decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable legislation, regulations, and industry standards across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Deliver clear, practical legal advice across a wide range of business areas.
  • Draft, negotiate, and review complex international contracts, including joint ventures, partnerships, and other high-value commercial agreements.
  • Establish, restructure, and manage corporate entities, maintaining robust governance both locally and internationally.
  • Support business acquisitions, divestments, ownership structures, and registration requirements.
  • Guide dispute resolution processes, including settlements, claims, litigation, and arbitration, while liaising with external counsel and monitoring case progress.
  • Oversee contract management processes, contribute to template development, streamline workflows, and enhance the Group’s Legal Framework.
  • Develop and enforce policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory obligations, including sanctions and other relevant requirements.

Requirements
  • Law degree (Bachelor’s and Master’s).
  • Extensive experience as a Group Legal Counsel, ideally gained within an international in-house setting; a background in aviation, transportation and/or logistics is a distinct advantage.
  • In-depth expertise in international contract law and corporate law.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Outstanding communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and hands-on, with a collaborative mindset and the capacity to manage multiple priorities with ease.

Remuneration is up to 100,000 EUR per annum (based on your experience) plus benefits:
