Our client in Oceania is seeking a qualified and experienced Competency Quality Inspector to join MRO Department.

Position

The position emphasizes safety as a core value in all decision-making and is responsible for promoting a positive safety and quality culture through leadership and personal example, in alignment with company safety and quality policies. The role reports to the Manager, Quality.

Responsibilities:

The role supports the quality and safety oversight of Part 145 maintenance operations by:

  • Conducting quality reviews, checklist-based inspections, and HSE surveys.

  • Maintaining deficiency databases and reporting quality lapses to the Manager Quality.

  • Following up on corrective and preventive actions from the Safety & Quality Management Group.

  • Participating in internal audits and assisting external auditors.

  • Delivering induction training for engineers and managing maintenance personnel training records.

  • Overseeing MOE amendments and coordinating revisions.

  • Monitoring engineer licence and certificate processes with CASA PNG.

  • Arranging CASA exams for maintenance staff.

  • Managing and validating the approved vendors register for Technical Materials. 


Requirements

Qualifications & Experience: 

  • Strong background in Quality and Safety, with formal qualifications in both areas.

  • Experience in a large airline environment preferred.

  • Excellent communication skills in fluent English (first language level).

  • Physically fit with strong planning and organizational abilities.

  • Proven experience or exposure to a similar role in a comparable work environment.

  • Capable of working independently and as part of a team, with fast learning ability.

  • Proficient computer skills and the ability to effectively communicate and engage with people at all levels.

Strategic / Generic Skills:

  • Skilled in managing complex issues, multitasking, and making quick administrative decisions.

  • Plans and implements programs effectively, while building strong relationships with employees, colleagues, and regulatory authorities (e.g., CASA).

  • Demonstrates strong time management and consistently meets deadlines.

  • Projects a professional, positive image that reflects well on PNG Air.

  • Shows a clear commitment to ongoing professional development and growth.


Terms
  • Up-to AUD 75K per annum
  • Accommodation, transportation, and health insurance provided 
  • 30 days of annual leave plus 9 days of sick leave  
  • Annual leave tickets: 4 return flights per year 
  • Working hours: 08:00 – 17:00, Monday to Friday

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Grade 12 Education
  • Have at least 3 – 5years’ working experience in a similar role (desirable)
  • Have high level of computer literacy especially in MS excel and word would be beneficial
  • Must be proactive and physically fit
  • Must have good interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to understand and communicate with people
  • Must be punctual
