Our client is one of the top airlines in the region, operating nearly 30 domestic routes and is recognized as the market leader in the country. On their behalf, we are looking for a strategic General Manager - Commercial to oversee and drive the growth of Scheduled/Regular Passenger Transport, Charter, and Cargo operations. Position The General Manager - Commercial manages the Scheduled/Regular Passenger Transport, Charter and Cargo functions of the airline. Requirements Senior management experience is required, with a strong background in commercial roles. Prior experience in the aviation industry is highly advantageous. Familiarity with the Papua New Guinea market is strongly preferred. Key Responsibilities Champion safety as a core value in all charter and RPT operations, ensuring adherence to safety management systems and fostering a positive safety culture. Lead the Commercial Division, including strategic direction, resource allocation, KPI setting, and budget management. Drive continuous improvement by identifying risks, managing change, and implementing corrective actions. Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, charter partners, travel agents, and distribution networks. Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to identify and capitalise on new business opportunities. Ensure the division is staffed with qualified personnel to deliver efficient and reliable services. Ensure compliance with company policies, aviation regulations (CASA regulations), and safety requirements.
