Our client PNG Air - is an established airline in Papua New Guinea. The airline is the leading operator in the country and currently operates in nearly 30 domestic destinations. 

Position

As Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor in an MRO facility, your role will be multifaceted requiring a combination of technical expertise to ensure engineering projects are carried out in accordance with the Company’s Quality Management Systems, on budget, on time and in a safe and controlled work place environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensuring all shift members is present and actively employed during the entire shift.
  • Ensuring all timesheet/cards are filled in correctly and certified as being correct.
  • Supervising all aircraft maintenance activities and other tasks assigned to the shift.
  • Maintaining a personal physical presence on-site or in the immediate vicinity of the work being carried out so that those persons being supervised have direct access to qualified guidance.
  • Ensure maintenance activities are fully understood and all staff are briefed and have input concerning intended outcomes and associated job risk.
  • Ensure engineers manage tooling within the controlled check in, check out environment and hold people accountable for missing tools and or tools returned in poor non complaint condition.
  • Prior to certification by the Supervisor of work performed by him, ensuring another LAME Checks the task performed.
  • Ensuring all paperwork is filled out correctly and certified correctly in accordance with the MOE
  • Ensuring the all safety and environmental requirements are complied with and that work areas are properly maintained.
  • Drive training initiative’s delivered by MRO Quality and Safety and or documented training guides published within the company’s manuals.

Requirements
  • Good mature leadership and team building skills, interpersonal, planning and communication skills. Technical competency on the ATR and or DHC-8 aircraft as well as managerial experience.
  • Working knowledge of appropriate processes, procedures and standards in the MOE
  • Organization skills – able to prioritize tasks and responsibilities
  • The ability to operate effectively in a multi-cultural environment.
  • The ability to sense and maintain a high level of best practice standards.
  • Results focused
  • Ability to advise senior management team on engineering matters and driving required changes
  • Tertiary Qualified in Engineering, Aviation or equivalent.
  • Must have at least 10 years’ experience in the aircraft maintenance industry.
  • DHC8/ATR 72 LAME License or equivalent
  • Must have demonstrated good communication skills (both written/oral)
  • Must have completed training in human factors.
  • Knowledgeable on the contents of the MOE and CASA Part 145 requirements
  • Extensive experience in engineering positions is essential.

  • Annual Leaves: 30 days (full-time contract)
  • Sick leaves: 9 days (full-time contract for tours 6 days)
  • Annual Leave Tickets: 4 return tickets per annum (full-time contract)
  • Working hours: Roster 2/3 Shifts
