Our client, a reputable airline in the Asian Pacific region, is currently looking for an Inventory Component Manager to join them as permanent employee. The airline operates an extensive network of destinations and boasts a diverse fleet of narrow-body and wide-body aircraft. 

Position

The position of Inventory Component Manager is responsible for managing the inventory of high value aircraft component and powerplant assets servicing the airline fleet.

The selected candidate will work across key stakeholders, MRO’s, OEM’s, repair services and suppliers, to develop and implement strategies to optimise the lifetime cost of ownership of assets and to ensure operational availability service levels are met.

Some of the key responsibilities include:  

  • Develop strategies to optimise the cost of ownership of aircraft components and powerplants while providing the operation with the required service levels to meet operational goals.
  • Develop tools and processes to analyse data to identify cost drivers and areas of opportunity to reduce direct maintenance costs.
  • Develop cost effective component availability service level strategies.
  • Manage the budget for component and powerplants maintenance costs.
  • Manage the component repair cycle.
  • Work closely with the Airline Procurement department to develop and evaluate RFPs for component availability and repair solutions, as well as supporting aircraft and product acquisition projects to ensure that effective cost and value protection is built into contracts.
  • Oversee component ITM and other support services to ensure they are delivering maximum value.
  • Lead and develop the team and work effectively across a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Drive and embed a culture of LEAN continuous improvement and use of digital tools.

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering / Aerospace discipline (or suitable equivalent)
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience
  • Broad experience of the aircraft component repair and engine overhaul market
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Proven ability to lead and energise a team and deliver business improvement
  • Strong communication, influencing and negotiation skills
  • Experience of using LEAN techniques to drive improvement initiatives

Terms

The position of Inventory Component Manager carries a basic salary around the equivalent of USD $9,000 to 12,000 per month depending on experience. Plus, a full set of benefits.
