Are you an experienced finance professional with a passion for aviation? We have an exciting opportunity for a Director of Finance at an airline in the Middle East.

Position

The Director of Finance will be a strategic thinker with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to ensure the airline’s financial stability and growth. They will be responsible for managing the financial health of the airline, providing strategic financial advice, and overseeing all financial operations. The airline will also look at senior finance managers looking for their next step in their career. 

Responsibilities:

·       Provide strategic leadership and coordination in the development and implementation of business planning, financial management, accounting, budgeting, and cost control.
·       Build and manage the finance team.
·       Lead, coordinate, and evaluate the financial programs and supporting information systems selection.
·       Evaluate financial performance, prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, and manage the company’s cash flow and liquidity.
·       Coordinate internal and external audits, consolidation of financial statements, and tax compliance.
·       Identify financial risks, develop strategies, and ensure compliance with all financial regulations/standards both internal and external.
·       Collaborate closely with the CEO on strategic planning/decision-making and provide strategic recommendations based on financial analysis and projections.
·       Manage the airline’s financial operations, including accounting, treasury, and tax functions.
·       Ensure the airline’s insurance coverage is adequate and cost-effective.
·       Examine means to enhance growth, profitability, and value creation by evaluating internal operations, potential acquisitions, cash management strategy, the effective use of corporate assets, and by considering the financial and operational risks of the business.
·       Establish and maintain appropriate internal control safeguards, including a financial risk register, and communicate and manage relevant risks.
·       Administer relationships with banks, financial foundations, and other stakeholders.
·       Ensure record systems are maintained in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards.


Requirements

·       Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting from a recognised university.
·       Minimum of 10 years of experience in finance, including at least 5 years as a CFO in a large company, preferably in the airline industry.
·       Knowledge of IFRS financial reporting standards.
·       Experience in contracting, negotiating, and change management.
·       Strong knowledge of financial regulations and standards.
·       Excellent analytical, strategic planning, and financial modeling skills.
·       Proficiency in financial software and tools.
·       Knowledge of international financial regulations and standards.
