Our client is a unique, international air cargo company in the handling air and ground logistics as well as aviation services. They are currently seeking to recruit an VP Materials and Logistics to join their team in Europe. 

Position

The chosen applicant is responsible for the Materials and Logistics unit of the Group. The primary responsibility is to ensure all material requirements of the group’s airlines are effectively met. S/he is also responsible for the group’s pool of spare engines.  

The primary responsibility is to: 

  • Ensure timely and efficient provisioning of parts, consumables, expendable, and other technical material required for the operation and maintenance of the group’s fleet; 
  • Make sure that the transportation, storage, and issue of the materials is done in accordance with the applicable regulations (EASA and CAAI), OEM instructions and industry best practices which will allow efficient and cost-effective provisioning of material to the individual airlines.; 
  • Agree and develop a group service level agreement, covering minimum availability requirements, wishes of individual airlines, specific aviation regulations, lease, and operational requirements. Manage the material operation accordingly; 
  • Set up an effective pool management program, for routable parts, either in-house of through a third-party maintenance provider to manage repairs and ensure adequate availability at suitable locations; 
  • Develop department standards and procedures, ensuring relevant aviation regulations, specific requirements from the SLA and KPI’s are met; 
  • Build an annual budget and manage the department’s activities in a consistent manner to ensure a profitable operation. and, 
  • Manage supplier network to ensure relevant KPI’s are being met. 

Requirements
  • A master’s degree in relevant field; 
  • Proven experience in material management and/or supply chain management; 
  • A minimum of 15 years of working experience; 
  • Have completed relevant EASA and/or FAA training;  
  • Hold previous experience in trading and negotiation on aircraft engines and spare parts 
  • Must have proven experience in working with Microsoft Excel and Word.  
  • Have the right to live and work in Europe  
  • Knowledge of the FAA regulatory system is an advantage

Terms

The remuneration:  

  • Salary:  around €120,000 EUR per annum. 
  • Car provided 
  • Full package of insurance and health care 
  • Relocation package up to €5,000 EUR 

General

The selected candidate must have strong project management skills and being able to work under pressure is required for this role whilst also having good communication and negotiation skills.
